January 30, 2024, EDMONTON, AB – In a significant accolade, Silvacom Ltd. (Silvacom) has been recognized as one of Alberta's Top 80 Employers for the eighth consecutive year through the esteemed annual competition organized by Canada's Top 100 Employers.
This award recognizes the Alberta employers who lead their industries in offering exceptional places to work. Winners were announced in a special edition magazine published in the Edmonton Journal and Calgary Herald and online at edmontonjournal.com and calgaryherald.com. The 80 winning workplaces are not ranked in any order.

First published in 2006, Alberta's Top Employers is an annual competition organized by the editors of Canada's Top 100 Employers. This special designation recognizes the Alberta employers that lead their industries in offering exceptional human resources programs and forward-thinking workplace policies. Employers are evaluated using eight criteria: Physical Workplace; Work Atmosphere and Social; Health, Financial and Family Benefits; Vacation and time-off; Employee Communications; Performance Management; Training and Skills Development; and Community Involvement.
The judges offered several reasons for selecting Silvacom, including:
- Silvacom encourages employees to enjoy the lighter side of work through a variety of company-organized activities, including an annual awards banquet, week-long in-office celebrations including food trucks, yard games and a bacon breakfast, onsite puppy therapy, and virtual events such as board game night, a Halloween costume contest, and a virtual escape room
- As part of the company's health benefits plan, employees receive $1,200 flex dollars, which can be allocated towards health care and wellness coverage, the purchase of extra vacation days, child care, or even transferred to an RRSP
