Silvacom Named One of Alberta’s Top 75 Employers for the Third Year in a Row

February 20, 2019, EDMONTON, AB – Today, Silvacom Ltd. (Silvacom) was named one of Alberta’s Top 75 Employers for the third consecutive year in an annual national employer competition run by Mediacorp Canada Inc. (Mediacorp).

This award recognizes the Alberta employers that lead their industries in offering exceptional places to work. Winners were announced in a special edition magazine published in the Edmonton Journal and Calgary Herald and online at edmontonjournal.com and calgaryherald.com. The 75 winning workplaces are not ranked in any order.

First launched in 2006, the Alberta’s Top 75 Employers competition (formerly Alberta’s Top 70 Employers) recognizes Alberta-based employers with exceptional human resources programs and forward-thinking workplace policies. Mediacorp runs the annual Canada’s Top 100 project competition and grade on eight criteria, which have remained constant since the project’s inception: Physical Workplace; Work Atmosphere & Social; Health, Financial & Family Benefits; Vacation & Time-Off; Employee Communications; Performance Management; Training & Skills Development; and Community Involvement.

The judges offered several reasons for selecting Silvacom, including:

  • Commitment to charitable giving, at home and in Africa;
  • Matching RRSP contributions (up to 9%) and new employee referral bonuses;
  • Flexible work hours, telecommuting and summer ‘earned day off’ options to help employees balance work and personal lives; and
