Effective January 1, 2012, Tom Grabowski and Bob Morton are pleased to announce that all members of The Silvacom Group's management team have become shareholders through an Employee Share Ownership Plan (ESOP). While Bob and Tom will remain majority shareholders and plan to be active in their current roles for at least the next 10 years, the introduction of The Silvacom Group ESOP provides our clients and staff with the assurance of steady leadership and key staff retention. In an effort to streamline its online presence and serve both existing as well as new clients more effectively, The Silvacom Group™ has launched a new website. The site is representative of where The Silvacom Group™ is today after 27 successful years in business and provides an in depth resource for discovering the range of products and solutions that Silvacom has to offer.

The Silvacom Group™ in partnership with Sierra Systems was awarded the contract to build the web based Campground Reservations System for the province of Alberta in 2009. The site has been an overwhelming success and is in service for over 50 provincial campgrounds as of the 2010 summer camping season. The site leverages a robust GIS and database driven back end with a web enabled, intuitive and interactive map based interface for campers to book camping sites in Alberta. The site - Reserve.AlbertaParks.ca - won the Government Technology Exhibition and Conference (GTEC) Distinction Award in the Provincial category. The Distinction Awards are a Canadian icon. For the past 17 years, the Awards have been the pre-eminent public sector recognition program in Canada, for the use of information technology and information management in government service delivery.

Alberta Tourism, Parks and Recreation (ATPR) was presented with ESRI's Award of Excellence for innovative use of their GIS product. The Silvacom Group™ along with Sierra Systems was selected by ATPR to build the system that manages bookings online for more than 4000 Provincial Campsites. The system has been very successful with over 50,000 hits on its first day in service and is a testament to the power of GIS solutions that companies like The Silvacom Group™ and Sierra Systems are able to provide to industrial clients.

Calgary, Alberta, Canada – North West Geomatics Ltd. and The Silvacom Group™ today jointly announced their acquisition of QC Data's 65% ownership in AltaLIS Ltd. The acquisition results from several months of discussions and negotiations with QC Data, who was one of the founding shareholders of AltaLIS, along with Martin Newby Consulting (MNC) of Calgary. MNC will retain its 35% ownership of AltaLIS.

The Silvacom Group™ acquires 50% ownership of Calgary based Martin Newby Consulting (MNC). MNC has been providing mapping services in Alberta, B.C. and Florida since 1998. They specialize in Surface Land mapping and are responsible for the maintenance of the Alberta Provincial Cadastral, Title and Disposition mapping data sets on behalf of Spatial Data Warehouse (SDW) and AltaLIS. MNC has a 35% ownership in AltaLIS.
