AVI PHOTO INTERPRETER
The Silvacom Group™ is a full spectrum consultancy with over 25 years of experience in the natural resource industries. We are currently seeking a highly motivated individual to add to our forest inventory team. This individual will be responsible for AVI photo interpretation, transfer and a variety of other projects.
Qualifications include a technical diploma in forestry or a natural resource field, and an AVI photo interpretation certificate. Softcopy or GIS experience would be an asset.

GIS Specialist

Applicants must be experienced in forest measurements.
Additional skills including plant identification and ecosite classification would be an asset. Formal training from a recognized Forestry program, ATV experience, a valid Alberta driver's license and a clean driving abstract are required.

- Web Application Developer
Web Application Developer
The Role:
As part of our Technology Development Team, the selected individual may be involved in software design, Internet application development and database design. The team is responsible for application development, maintenance and support for an online suite of applications for the natural resource industries and government sectors. Recent and future applications are Rich Internet Applications (RIAs) and incorporate geospatial technology.The Ideal Candidate:

- Is self-motivated, can also work independently without constant supervision.

Required Experience:
- Minimum 2 years web development experience using Java/JSP, Tomcat, Struts, and Hibernate.
- Experience with Eclipse development environment.
- Knowledge of Adobe Flex (MXML and ActionScript) is highly desirable.
- Knowledge and experience creating web-enabled geospatial applications using GIS technologies by ESRI such as ArcIMS, ArcGIS Server, and ArcObjects is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of RDBMS, preferably Oracle and proficiency with SQL.
- Strong knowledge of front end web technologies: XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX and Web Services.
- Understanding of XML and related technologies (XSLT, XPath and XQuery).
- Experience working with and developing Content Management Systems (CMS) such as Alfresco.
- Experience with building user interfaces for customer facing applications.
- Experience with engineering web applications for high volume and high availability.
- Experience with version control software such as CVS and Subversion.
- Working knowledge of ASP.NET platform, C# language and Visual Studio.
- Experience in functional and QA testing concepts.
- Linux web server administration (Linux, Apache, Tomcat) experience.
- Post-secondary education in IT related field.
